Yonah

President
I’ve had so so many conversations with folks who are ready for action and want to be involved. The library will be critical to supporting our community through increasing strife, but DCPL is functionally collapsing without major change. We can change that together.

Domonique
Smith
Vice President
I’m passionate about helping those who feel like they don’t know how or can’t use their voice. I believe in empowering others and creating a space where everyone feels heard and supported.

Tasneem
Daud
Recording Secretary
As a MAT leader, I’ve seen firsthand how staff concerns—especially around safety—often go unheard, despite recurring issues across multiple branches.

David
Gillette
Secretary Treasurer
A democratic union is a strong union. I want to be an instrument to help members shape our local’s strategy as we fight back against worsening conditions and stagnant pay.

Jasmine
Cosby
Executive Officer
The aim for all of us is to implement meaningful change within DCPL, steadfastly upholding the system’s principles and policies.

Kelly
Jones
Executive Officer
I don’t like complaining unless I have a solution in mind to address said complaint and being an Executive Officer is a way to address complaints on a larger scale.

Karen
McCool
Executive Officer
We have real concerns that aren’t being acknowledged, answered, or addressed. Things at DCPL need to change, and I know everyone has great ideas to make those changes happen. I’m ready to listen and act to bring those ideas and changes to fruition.

Being based at C4A, I’ve covered almost every desk in MLK and collaborated with 10 other branches. There are so many common problems. Techs are not paid fairly. Libraries are understaffed, and I want to use my knowledge of accessibility to help with ADA requests.
